CONTEST POINT, IDAHO

I draw my inspiration from the mining architecture and fire towers of the North West as expressed through the Japanese design philosophy of Wabi-Sabi. Burned yaki hari finish protects naturally curving timbers reminding one of fire’s ability to transform and purify the landscape and the life that is born from that. Within the home, I played with a variety of patinas created through fire, salt, and water to embody the elements.
